Free time zone converter and world clock

This time zone converter turns a date and time in one zone into the matching time in another, and shows a live world clock with the current time in major cities. It is built for the everyday question "what time will my 4 pm be for someone in Philadelphia?" so you can schedule online meetings, calls and webinars across countries without doing the maths in your head.

How time zones and UTC work

Every zone is defined as an offset from UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). London is UTC+0 in winter, New York is UTC−5, Tokyo is UTC+9, and so on. To convert a time, you find the instant it represents in UTC and then express that instant in the target zone. This tool does it automatically using your browser's built-in time-zone database, so it stays correct as rules change.

Daylight saving time (DST)

Many countries shift their clocks forward in spring and back in autumn, so the offset between two cities can change a few times a year. That is why "London is 5 hours ahead of New York" is not always exactly true around the switch dates. Because this converter uses real calendar dates, it accounts for DST automatically for the date you choose — handy when you book a meeting weeks ahead and a clock change falls in between.

Planning a meeting across zones

Pick your own zone as the "from" field, set the date and time that suits you, and choose the other person's zone as the "to" field. The converted time tells you exactly when the meeting lands for them, and the UTC offset row shows how many hours apart you are. Share both local times in the invite to avoid confusion.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle daylight saving? Yes, conversions use the real date you pick, so DST changes are applied automatically.

Is my location sent anywhere? No, everything runs in your browser using the standard time-zone data already built into it.
