Age calculator: your exact age in years, months and days
This age calculator shows how many years, months and days old you are from your date of birth, plus your total age in days, weeks or months. Handy for forms, birthdays and curiosity. It runs in your browser, with no data sent anywhere.
How age is calculated
Age is not just this year minus your birth year: you have to check whether your birthday has already happened this year. If it hasn’t, one year is taken off. Then the completed months and days since your last birthday are counted. That’s why two people born in the same year can be different ages depending on the month.
Worked example
If you were born on 15 March 1990 and today is 2 June 2026, you are 36 years, 2 months and 18 days old — about 13,228 days or more than 1,890 weeks of life.
Vocabulary
- Chronological age — the time elapsed since you were born.
- Leap year — a 366-day year (29 February) every four years.
- Birthday — the day another full year is completed.
Frequently asked questions
How many days old am I? It’s the difference in days between your date of birth and today; the tool shows it alongside the years.
What if I was born on 29 February? Your birthday is each 29 February; in non-leap years it’s usually marked on 28 February or 1 March, but your age in years only ticks up on the real date.
Does the time of birth count? No: it works with whole dates, so your age changes at the start of your birthday.
