Net to gross salary calculator

Enter your target net salary and deduction rates to find the gross.

Free net to gross salary calculator

This calculator works backwards from a net (take-home) salary to the gross salary you would need before income tax and social security. Enter your target net pay and your deduction percentages, and it solves for the gross. This is useful when negotiating a salary, comparing job offers quoted in net, or budgeting from the figure that actually reaches your account.

How gross is calculated from net

Gross = net ÷ (1 − total deduction rate), where the total rate is income tax plus social security. For example, a net of 23,595 with 15% tax and 6.35% social security implies a gross of about 30,000 per year.

Why editable rates?

Deduction rates vary by country, region and personal allowances and change yearly, so the tool uses editable percentages rather than a fixed table. Enter the effective rates from your payslip or a current tax guide for an accurate, lasting estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Is this exact? It is an estimate from the rates you enter; progressive brackets and allowances mean your real gross may differ slightly.
