Free gross to net salary calculator

This calculator converts a gross salary into net (take-home) pay by subtracting the income tax and social security percentages you enter. Because tax rates differ by country and personal situation, the rates are editable: set your own income tax and social security percentages, choose how many pay periods you have per year (12, or 14 in some countries), and the tool shows the annual net, the amount per payment and the total deductions.

How net pay is calculated

Net pay = gross × (1 − total deduction rate). The total deduction rate is your income tax percentage plus your social security percentage. For example, a gross of 30,000 with 15% tax and 6.35% social security gives roughly 23,595 net per year.

Why editable rates?

Tax brackets change every year and depend on allowances, region and family situation, so a fixed table is quickly out of date. Entering your own effective rates (from your last payslip or a tax table) gives an accurate, country-neutral estimate that keeps working over time.

Frequently asked questions

Is this exact? It is an estimate based on the rates you enter; your real payslip may differ due to progressive brackets, allowances and one-off items.
